The remake brought better graphics and online mode. Years later, the Xbox 360 received a remake of the game called Vigilante 8 Arcade. It's a trip down Nostalgia lane, and you may find yourself saying "Where did the good days go?" such as I did.Vigilante 8 received good reviews, with many critics liking the multiplayer modes and controls.Ī year later, a second game called Vigilante 8: 2nd Offense, was released for the PS1, Dreamcast and Nintendo 64. There's not much else to say, other than if you enjoy V8 or if you remember playing it back in the day, get this.

But seeing as the original V8 games are not cheap and run at about the same price, it's an okay deal. Value-5.5/10 It's pretty bare for $10, especially since you need to drop $4 more for a complete original game. If you get the DLC (I haven't yet) you'll have a complete, remastered Vigilante 8, that borrows some from the second. None other than Activision to be greedy and take out three characters and two maps for $4 DLC. Probably won't get your $10 worth.Ĭontent- 4/10 It's pretty bare. If you remember playing V8 but don't have a large interest in car combat games, you'll play it once in a while. If you enjoy car combat games, you'll play it often enough. If you are a big V8 fan, you'll play this non stop. That's not an option any more, now you can charge individual weapons and fire charged shots, I personally like the old way better. It used to be that you could fire any and all weapons at the same time. On a last note, weapons work differently now. It shakes and moves everywhere like it's having a seizure, it's not cool.
VIGILANTE 8 REMASTERED SERIES
Say you'll fly off a cliff in an awesome stunt, but the camera will be worse than the Bourne series and nearly make you sick. On top of that, Convoy will fly about twenty feet up and thirty feet back. In more times than not in V8 Arcade, I'll be playing as Sid Burn with his hot rod, and take out Convoy in his Semi. If JT in his sedan takes on Molo in his bus, Molo and his bus are obviously going to win. The physics can be down right ridiculous. Or on the ski resort level you can get hit by an avalanche. Example, on the meteor level a dust devil sweeps the map, like in ATV Offroad Fury 2, and will pick you up and toss you. The stages are huge, with many traps and cool things to activate. The gameplay feels like a V8 game, it's been ten years since I've last played one like I said, but it still feels like what I remember. While it's mostly good, there are flaws in this department. Whether it's the shattering of your windshield, an explosion, launching a rocket, or even some of the music tracks for the original game, it all sounds pretty good. After awhile you let it go and get over it, but they're really not what they could be. The game looks as if it's from 2002, an early original Xbox title.

Boy was this a long intro, but lets get down to the review part eh? But, I played more and more, compared footage, and realized, it's not that far off. "What is this crap?! This isn't V8!" Was my first reaction. I became very excited as I started my first match! I haven't played V8 in ten years! Nostalgia is punching me in the face!!! Here we go!. Turns out it's a remake of the first game.
VIGILANTE 8 REMASTERED TRIAL
*What's this?!* Vigilante 8 Arcade?! As I downloaded the trial I googled it. The other day I had some Microsoft points, and was browsing the store. Disheartened, I left the store, hoping I'd find the game another time for a cheaper price.

I recently just found Vigilante 8 on N64 in a local used game store, though they were asking $20.

The second was just as good, and used to keep me up till all hours of the night playing on my 64. I used to rent it at about the ages of 5-8, and sing along with the "Ooo Ooo" of the theme song of the first. By tekbow95 | Review Date: AugI have fond memories of Vigilante 8.
